Adopt A Talent Program 

(Programa Adopte Un Talento-PAUTA) is a project created by Mexican scientists that promotes the development of scientific talent in young people. This program consists of a dynamic network of students, teachers, scientists, businessmen, government agencies and is supported by a philanthropic culture of commitment and social responsibility. From within these relationships PAUTA achieves its goals of educational and social support.

We work with teachers

PAUTA invites teachers from the schools across the country to participate in science workshops which explore teaching strategies, challenges and activities designed for constructing knowledge and developing abilities and attitudes towards science. Teachers participate in the workshops and reproduce a constructivist approach and teaching activities with their students, thus acquiring teaching tools that transform the classroom into a space of scientific knowledge.

We Work With Children

PAUTA teachers motivate, identify and accompany students with abilities and interest in scientific themes through the creation of extracurricular science workshops and projects in their schools and other PAUTA spaces. Thus children can continue developing and involving themselves with science in a fun manner. These children are accompanied in their scientific growth from early academic experiences through their university education.

PAUTA is for...

Children and youth with scientific abilities and eagerness to explore science themes; for teachers interested in science education, and to facilitate the construction of bridges between the scientific research community and the rest of society. Thus promoting science as an intimate and useful tool for citizens, and providing a path for youth that they may even make it their own as a way of life.

General Objective

To design and operate an educational program that promotes equity and educational excellence by developing scientific abilities and skills amongst students and teachers.

As a program for identification and development of talent in Mexico

PAUTA has no precedent in Mexico. It is created and supported by a group of scientists and science educators in the Institute of Nuclear Science in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and other educational and scientific institutions. Today it operates sites in the states of Chiapas, Michoacán and Morelos, as well as in the nation´s capital, Mexico City.

The development of scientific talent is viable if students are offered the possibility of learning in a fun, enjoyable and everyday manner cultivating a scientific culture.

These workshops will be used by science educators (K-12) to ensure that selected youth have opportunities to develop their talent.
